On‑Campus Interview Scheduling Made Easy

On‑campus interviews take place right inside the 51̽»¨ Center, where students and employers have access to 23 private interview rooms designed for a focused, professional interview experience. Many employers choose to conduct their interviews here as part of their recruiting visit to campus.

You can easily see which employers are hosting on‑campus interviews by checking their postings in Handshake. If an employer is offering interview schedules, they will appear directly within the job or event listing.

Reserve a Suite

To reserve a room, submit the Interview Suite Request Form at least 24 to 48 hours before your interview. Allow up to two business days for a response.

Availability: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The interview area closes promptly at 5 p.m.

How do I find out about interviews happening on campus?

Some Employers plan early in the semester for their on-campus interviews, and some reserve a week before. Handshake has a guide to viewing upcoming  and/or following the UNT 51̽»¨ Center social media pages for upcoming interviews.

What are the different types of interviews in Handshake?

Room‑Only Timeline - The employer manages the application process outside Handshake. Students only see the interview date. Many employers collect sign‑ups at career fairs—ask employers for details.

Open Timeline - You apply in Handshake and immediately select an interview time. Watch the listed deadlines.

Pre‑select Timeline - You apply in Handshake, and employers choose primary and alternate candidates.

  • Primary candidates choose time slots first.
  • Alternates choose after.
  • Handshake emails you your status (primary, alternate, or declined).
What is the 51̽»¨ Center’s No‑Show Policy?
  1. Students are held accountable for missed interviews; employers may report no‑shows.
  2. You may cancel through Handshake up to two business days before the interview.
  3. Late cancellations or missed interviews count as no‑shows. Students may receive a temporary Handshake suspension, with exceptions for extreme circumstances.
Where are my on-campus interviews located?

The 51̽»¨ Center, Sage Hall, Suite 202. Check in at the front desk and be seated in the lobby where your interviewer will come greet you.

How do I reserve an interview suite?
  • Complete the interview suite request at least 24–48 hours in advance.
  • Allow two business days for a response.
  • Rooms are available 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; the suite area closes at 5 p.m.
  • Reservation approval depends on room availability.

 

Can I reserve a room for a virtual or phone interview?

Yes. Submit the request form at least 24 hours ahead (48 hours preferred). A staff member will confirm availability. Please note that completing the  does not guarantee that a room will be available and approved for a reservation. Reservations will only be approved when space is available for the date/time requested. After completing the form, a staff member will be in contact with you regarding your reservation.

The interview suites are available from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and close promptly at 5 p.m.
